Peshawar Zalmi vs Quetta Gladiators produced another strong result for Zalmi, who claimed an eight-wicket win after Babar Azam anchored a calm chase with an unbeaten half-century. The captain finished on 71 not out off 51 balls and guided his side to 156/2 in 18.3 overs, sealing victory with nine balls to spare.
Zalmi built the chase on a confident start. Mohammad Haris attacked early and shared a brisk 75-run opening partnership with Babar Azam, putting Quetta under pressure from the outset.
Haris made 35 off 28 balls before departing, but the platform was already in place. Kusal Mendis then added 21 in a steady stand with Babar, who kept control of the innings and avoided any late collapse.

Babar led the chase with authority and timing rather than risk. He struck 10 boundaries during his unbeaten knock and made sure Zalmi stayed ahead of the required rate.
After Mendis fell, Aaron Hardie added 18 not out and supported Babar through the final phase. Together, they closed out the chase comfortably and extended Zalmi’s winning run.
Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi made the right call by choosing to field first. Quetta Gladiators never fully settled and lost wickets at regular intervals on their way to 154 all out in 20 overs.
Ahsan Ali fell early, which immediately increased pressure on Quetta’s top order. Captain Saud Shakeel scored 16, while Rilee Rossouw added 28 as they tried to rebuild the innings.
Hasan Nawaz top-scored with 37, but Quetta could not build the momentum needed for a bigger total. A late cameo from Tom Curran offered some resistance, though it did not change the overall pattern of the innings.
Peshawar’s bowlers controlled the game throughout the first innings. Muqeem and Mohammad Basit delivered the standout performances, taking three wickets each and stopping Quetta from breaking free.
Their disciplined spells ensured Quetta remained below a truly challenging score. That effort gave Zalmi’s batters a manageable target and laid the foundation for another convincing result.
With the win, Peshawar Zalmi secured their sixth victory in seven matches and stretched their run to five straight wins, further strengthening their place on the points table.
