Peshawar Zalmi team has picked a cricketer from Bajaur agency Muhammad Irfan for the second edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) starting in February next year.
Muhammad Irfan is a leg spinner and he has represented Fata region in the domestic Twenty20 tournament and Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, the most prestigious domestic cricket event, reported a private news channel.
Local tribesmen of Bajaur agency have expressed happiness and excitement over his selection in the Peshawar Zalmi, one of the five franchise teams of the PSL.
Irfan’s inclusion in the PSL proved that there is no dearth of talent in Fata and the youngsters of the tribal areas are equally talented as players of other areas.
It merits a mention here that the drafting of players for the second edition of PSL was held in Dubai during which owners and management of all the five franchise teams selected their players. (APP)
