Pep Guardiola has announced that he will not manage another club after his tenure at Manchester City ends, although he remains open to taking on a national team role.

Pep Guardiola’s revelation came during an interview with Spanish celebrity chef Dani Garcia, which was later shared on Garcia’s YouTube channel.

Shortly after extending his contract with Manchester City in November, Guardiola shared his future career plans and personal aspirations. “I feel this is enough. I’m going to stop. I’m not going to take another team,” Guardiola stated emphatically, dismissing the idea of continuing in club football outside Manchester City. He mentioned the lack of energy to start anew with a different club, highlighting the exhaustive demands of club management.

🚨🔵 Pep Guardiola: “I’m NOT gonna manage any other club after City”.

“I’m not talking about the long-term future but what I’m not going to do is leave, go to another country, do the same thing as now”.

However, Guardiola expressed interest in potentially coaching a national team, noting the less frequent nature of international games as a more appealing option. “That’s different. It’s not every day, not every three days,” he explained, pointing out the benefits of having more time to reflect and plan.

In addition to his coaching future, Guardiola also discussed his broader interests with Garcia. He desired to eventually take time off to pursue personal interests such as studying French, playing golf, and learning to cook. These comments paint a picture of a man looking to find balance and personal fulfilment outside the rigorous demands of football management.

As Guardiola contemplates his future, his focus remains clear: he envisions a shift away from the day-to-day grind of club management, possibly towards roles that offer a different pace and lifestyle, such as international coaching, which aligns with his long-term career interests.
