Recently, the New York Post released photos depicting Anderson in a concerning state, sparking widespread concern for his well-being on social media.
The images show Anderson layered in jackets and consuming a sandwich on the street. Despite obscuring his head in one photo, others reveal a pale, disoriented demeanour. The Post briefly described him as “dishevelled” and “unrecognisable,” omitting further context.
Social media reactions, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), echo anxiety about Anderson’s health. One comment highlighted the urgency of intervention to prevent a tragedy akin to Whitney Houston’s, questioning the absence of his support network. Another stated, “He needs rehab.”
Anderson’s portrayal of Arthur Shelby, a character battling substance addiction, has drawn parallels to his own life, especially after his recent legal issues. His attorney, Moira MacFarlane, argued that Anderson’s actions were an attempt to resonate with fans by embodying his character after tests indicated opiate and cocaine use.
Amid these developments, Peaky Blinders enthusiasts anticipate the series’ adaptation into a film slated for a post-2025 release. Steven Knight, the series creator, confirmed the involvement of Cillian Murphy and Paul Anderson despite the latter’s current controversies.
