PCB Unveils New “Matrix Jersey” for T20 World Cup 2024

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the national team’s official kit for the T20 World Cup 2024 at a ceremony in Lahore.

Titled “Matrix Jersey,” the new kit was showcased in a promotional video featuring Pakistan’s white-ball captain Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan, along with other teammates like Saim Ayub and Naseem Shah also appearing. The video captured the players performing drills before donning the jerseys for the upcoming ICC event.

Pakistan is in group A, alongside India, Ireland, Canada, and the co-host United States, and has been selected for the World Cup.

The team will depart for Ireland tomorrow for a series of Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The itinerary includes three T20Is in Ireland, followed by four in England. After these series, the team will head to the United States to compete in the T20 World Cup.

The squad for the Ireland and England T20Is currently consists of 18 players. After the first T20I against England on May 22, the squad will be reduced to 15 in preparation for the World Cup.

Although the initial deadline for squad submissions was May 1, adjustments are permissible until May 25. Post this date, any changes to the squad will require clearance from the event’s technical committee.

The T20 World Cup comprises 20 teams strategically divided into four groups of five. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super 8 round. Subsequently, these teams will be organized into two groups of four. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. The tournament is scheduled to conclude with the final match on June 29.
