The sit-in by ‘Inqilab March’ participants has entered its fifth day in the federal capital on Monday.
Thousands of protestors including women and children are present at Aabpara Chowk. The 48-hour deadline given by Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri will expire today.
On Saturday, he issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the government to accept his demands and threatened that he would not be responsible for any repercussions afterwards.
Qadri, who led protests against the government last year that brought the capital to a standstill, has accused the Sharif government of corruption and campaigned for more to be done for the country’s poor.
He will address PAT workers at 4:00pm today to present next strategy against the government.
