The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri has arrived in Lahore early this morning.
Before his departure to Pakistan, talking to media at Heathrow airport London, PAT chief said the duration of Lahore sit-in that he announced to take place on June 17 on Mall Road will be announced on the protest day.
Dr. Qadri asserted Panama Leaks that unveiled massive corruption is nothing in comparison with the mega corruption scandals yet to come to the fore.
Commenting on surgery of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif carried out recently in London, Tahirul Qadri said, “I am short for words to comment on it, as it was just a miracle.”
Replying to a question regarding PAT’s joining the grand opposition, Dr. Qadri said his party would hold consultations to join the forum, if formed
Flight carrying Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairperson Tahir-ul-Qadri landed at Allama Iqbal International Airport early Wednesday morning. He has now reached his house in Model Town, Lahore however.
Supporters gathered in large numbers to give Qadri a warm welcome upon his arrival at the airport. Many danced while others showered petals on their beloved leader.
Addressing his followers, Qadri said he plans to hold a sit-in in front of Punjab Assembly on June 17 to demand justice for those who lost their loved ones in the Lahore Model Town tragedy. He called upon the Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif to take action on the FIR of the incident that he had filed .
On June 17, 2014, tensions between PAT workers and Punjab police increased as both parties engaged in violent action against each other. The tussle is said to have erupted when police conducted an anti-encroachment drive in the area
