Even though auto sales increased for cars, jeeps, and pickups in November 2022, overall vehicle sales fell 39% in the first five months of the current fiscal year.
The sale of autos in November 2022 was 18,391 units, compared to 13,502 in October, and 66,458, compared to 108,635 last year.
Suzuki Cultus and WagonR dominate the 1,000cc segment. However, Suzuki Cultus and WagonR sales did not improve in November from October, whereas overall, 1,300cc and above and below 1,000cc sales have shown some improvement.
Honda Atlas Ltd
Honda Atlas Ltd (HAL) sales declined to 7,925 units for the first five months of fiscal year 22-23 from 13,215 units for the first five months of fiscal year 21-22.
Toyota Ltd
Toyota’s Corolla and Yaris sales declined to 10,186 for the first five months of fiscal year 22-23 from 23,975 units for the first five months of fiscal year 21-22.
Suzuki Ltd
Suzuki’s Cultus and WagonR sales fell to 4,088 and 2,899 in the first five months of fiscal year 22-23 from 13,105 and 8,768 units for the first five months of fiscal year 21-22.
Suzuki Bolan and Alto660cc sales fell from 5,201 and 23,193 in the first five months of fiscal year 22-23 to 1,973 and 20,719 in the first five months of fiscal year 21-22.
Hyundai Ltd
Hyundai Tucson’s assembler sold 1,877 vehicles in the first five months of fiscal year 22-23, compared to 1,091 units in the first five months of fiscal year 21-22.
