Batting first, Pakistan scored 189 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, thanks to a remarkable opening partnership of 138 runs between Saim Ayub, who made 66 runs, and Sahibzada Farhan, who scored 74 runs off 53 balls, including three fours and five sixes. The bowling attack, led by Hasan Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, Haris Rauf, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Saim Ayub (each taking one wicket), was effective in defending the total. Pakistan made two changes to their lineup, with Haris Rauf replacing Shaheen Afridi and Khushdil Shah substituting for Fakhar Zaman.
