Pakistan’s textile sector achieved a remarkable $13.613 billion in exports during the first nine months of the 2024-2025 fiscal year, marking a 9.38% increase compared to last year.

According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), this growth highlights the textile industry’s resilience and pivotal role as the cornerstone of Pakistan’s export economy.

In March 2025, textile exports reached $2.64 billion, reflecting a 6.27% increase compared to March 2024. This growth contributed to a robust overall export figure of $24.7 billion from July 2024 to March 2025, up 7.82% year-on-year. The data signals a positive trajectory for Pakistan’s economic recovery and export diversification.

Pakistan’s Textile Exports

The textile sector’s success is driven by strong demand for the following categories:

  • Knitwear: A leading contributor to export growth.
  • Readymade garments: High demand in global markets.
  • Bed wear: Consistent performance in international trade.
  • Cotton cloth: A staple of Pakistan’s textile exports.

These categories underscore Pakistan’s competitive edge in the global textile market, bolstered by quality and cost-effectiveness.

The textile industry remains a backbone of Pakistan’s economy, employing millions and driving foreign exchange earnings. The sector’s 9.38% export growth demonstrates its ability to adapt to global market demands despite rising production costs and competition.
