The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced its first-ever T20 International tri-series. It will feature Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Sri Lanka.

The tri-series will start on November 17 with Pakistan facing Afghanistan. The match will be played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The series aims to help all teams prepare for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. The World Cup will be held in India and Sri Lanka next year.

This will be Afghanistan’s first T20I match in Pakistan. They have played five ODIs in Pakistan before. The last ODI was against Australia during the ICC Champions Trophy in February 2025. Sri Lanka will play Afghanistan on November 19. This match will also take place at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The remaining five T20 matches, including the final on November 29, will be played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. Pakistan will also host South Africa for several matches in October and November. The schedule includes a two-match Test series for the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27. It also features three T20Is and three ODIs from October 12 to November 8.

PCB Chief Operating Officer Sumair Ahmed said, “We look forward to hosting Sri Lanka and Afghanistan for Pakistan’s maiden T20I tri-series. This event will provide excellent preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. It will also offer exciting cricket for fans across venues.”

He added that earlier in 2025, PCB successfully hosted the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier. These events show Pakistan’s strength and ability to host top international cricket.
