According to the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF), the match, which took place at 1 p.m. (PKT), concluded with each team earning a point. It ended in a deadlock, with no goals scored by either side by half-time.
Before this match, Pakistan and Japan secured spots in the final, scheduled for Saturday at 5:30 pm (PKT) at the Azlan Shah Stadium. With 11 points, Pakistan leads the table, closely followed by Japan with one point less. On Wednesday, Pakistan clinched a narrow victory over Canada with a score of 5-4, while Japan overcame the hosts, Malaysia, 2-1.
Radio Pakistan reported that Pakistan won matches against Malaysia, South Korea, and Canada but drew with Japan and New Zealand. Meanwhile, Japan, matching Pakistan in victories and a draw, was set to face Canada later on Friday at 3:15 pm (PKT).
