The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association announced a Pakistan petrol pump strike, saying fuel stations nationwide would close indefinitely from midnight on July 22.
The association said it issued the strike call after negotiations with Minister of Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik ended without an agreement.
According to an APPPOA statement, the two sides discussed the proposed daily pricing of petroleum products and an increase in dealers’ profit margins.

APPPOA said the negotiations failed to resolve either issue, prompting petrol pump owners to announce the countrywide shutdown.
The association did not specify when fuel stations would reopen, making the strike indefinite unless the government and pump owners reach an agreement.
