ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and India prisoner lists were exchanged on Wednesday under the 2008 Consular Access Agreement, the Foreign Office said.
Pakistan handed over details of 250 Indian prisoners in Pakistan to the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
The list included 52 civilian prisoners and 198 fishermen. India shared details of 439 Pakistani or believed-to-be-Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails. The Indian list included 386 civilian prisoners and 53 fishermen.
The Foreign Office said both countries exchange prisoner lists through diplomatic missions on January 1 and July 1 each year.
Islamabad urged New Delhi to release and repatriate 97 Pakistani prisoners who have completed their sentences. The group includes 64 civilian prisoners and 33 fishermen, all of whom have had their nationality confirmed.

Pakistan also sought consular access to believed-to-be-Pakistani prisoners to confirm their nationality.
The Foreign Office said Pakistan would continue efforts for the early return of all Pakistani prisoners.
