Youm-e-Takbeer Ad published on all Pakistan newspaper on May 28, 2024, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan

Today, all major newspapers in Pakistan published official advertisements by the Government of Pakistan for Youm-e-Takbeer, prominently featuring a photo of Nawaz Sharif. Despite holding no governmental position and merely being a Member of the National Assembly (MNA), his image was prominently displayed.

Remarkably, the advertisements notably overlooked the picture of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the pioneer of Pakistan’s atomic science and the mastermind behind Pakistan’s nuclear test, which led to sharp criticism from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and social media.

PTI officially criticized the use of public funds for personal publicity in newspapers, attributing this practice to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). They stated that such misuse of public funds for advertisements does not garner goodwill but resentment from the public.

Why is taxpayers money being wasted for such unnecessary things?

Then we go to IMF every year lol pic.twitter.com/iKYoDIwmJs

Furthermore, PTI emphasized that the true essence of May 28 and “national guardianship” has been repeatedly conveyed to the nation through Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan’s words. They accused Nawaz Sharif of not being the protector of May 28 but rather someone known for attacking the Supreme Court, being involved in Panama Leaks, owning Avenfield properties, and fleeing the country at the first sign of trouble.
