Following Pakistan’s revelation of documents implicating an agent of India’s intelligence agency RAW, Ashok Kumar Anand was forced into the public eye.
Sources indicate that Ashok Kumar Anand, involved in murders in Pakistan, was compelled to appear publicly after incontrovertible evidence against him surfaced.
Ashok Kumar held a press conference in front of Indian media representatives in the Indian capital, Delhi, waving the evidence and claiming to be a mere businessman.
In January 2024, Pakistan presented Ashok Kumar Anand’s passport, among other documents, at a press conference, accusing him of involvement in the killing of Pakistani civilians. Over two and a half months later, Ashok Kumar made his first statement in front of the Indian media.
Speaking to the Indian news agency India Today, Ashok Kumar claimed he is an ordinary businessman operating in Dubai who returned to India after facing allegations and receiving threatening calls. He acknowledged the photograph and passport circulating in the Pakistani media as his but insisted he is just a trader with no links to the Indian intelligence agency.
Ashok Kumar admitted he was frightened after his photograph and passport were exposed and returned to India from Dubai, now waiting to see what happens next. Some friends warned him that the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI might start following him, possibly leading to trouble.
In January 2024, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Muhammad Sair Sajjad Qazi presented irrefutable evidence in Islamabad, including Ashok Ananda’s passport and photograph, alleging that India was conducting extrajudicial and transboundary killings.
Sair Sajjad Qazi informed that RAW agents Ashok Kumar Anand and Yogesh Kumar were involved in the murder of two Pakistani citizens. He claimed Pakistan possesses credible evidence linking Ashok Kumar Anand to the murders.
