A Pakistan Army officer tragically lost his life during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Shakhas region of the Khyber District.
According to an official press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday, three suspected terrorists and their associates were detained during the operation.
While security forces were setting up strategic positions to prevent the suspects from fleeing, Major Shah spotted a group of terrorists and intercepted them. A subsequent firefight led to Major Shah’s unfortunate death, as per the ISPR briefing.
The fallen officer, 33-year-old Major Mian Abdullah Shah, was a native of Kohat.
The ISPR reported that efforts are being made to secure the area and remove any terrorists who might still be present. They reiterated the security forces’ commitment to eradicating the scourge of terrorism, emphasizing that the sacrifices of their soldiers only bolster their resolve.
