On September 15, 2025, five Pakistan Army soldiers, including a captain, died in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Kech, Balochistan. The IED exploded as troops moved to clear the area. The martyrs were Captain Waqar Ahmed, 25, from Loralai; Naik Asmat Ullah, 35, from Dera Ghazi Khan; Lance Naik Junaid Ahmed, 29, from Sukkur; Lance Naik Khan Muhammad, 29, from Mardan; and Sepoy Muhammad Zahoor, 28, from Swabi. In response, security forces killed five terrorists from the group Fitna Al Hindustan, labelled an Indian proxy by the military.

After the attack, the army launched further operations to clear the remaining terrorists in Kech. The ISPR said these efforts aim to stop Indian-backed terrorism. The military’s resolve grew stronger, fueled by the sacrifice of the five soldiers.

On September 13 and 14, security forces killed 31 terrorists from the Fitna al Khwarij network in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. In Lakki Marwat, 14 militants died in a firefight. Another 17 were killed in Bannu. The ISPR noted ongoing operations to ensure no terrorists remain, showing Pakistan’s commitment to safety.
