Top military commanders have pledged to prevent violence during political activities and ensure democratic elections. This commitment follows a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, chaired the 262nd Corps Commanders’ Conference in Rawalpindi. The army’s role in aiding the Election Commission of Pakistan for smooth elections was a key topic.
Ensuring National Security
The army will adhere to constitutional mandates as outlined by the Election Commission. Recent attacks, particularly in KP and Balochistan, have heightened security needs for over 128 million voters. The military honours the sacrifices of those who died for peace and stability in Pakistan. It vows to confront terrorists and protect national sovereignty.
General Munir emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace and sovereignty. The forum condemned India’s actions against Pakistani citizens and supported the rights of Palestinians and Kashmiris. Additionally, efforts against criminal activities were acknowledged, underscoring their economic impact.
Operational readiness was reviewed, with emphasis on training and soldier morale.
