Following the death of businessman Sunjay Kapur on June 12, 2025, from cardiac arrest, speculation arose regarding actress Karisma Kapoor and her children’s share of his ₹30,000 crore estate.

Sources close to the family have clarified that Karisma is not involved in property matters and is solely focused on the well-being of her children. Her children, Samaira and Kiaan, are the rightful heirs.

Sources informed IANS that Karisma is not involved in any inheritance or property-related matters. They refuted rumours of her seeking a share of Sunjay’s assets, emphasising her disconnection from them. However, the children will receive what is rightfully theirs.

Karisma Kapoor is now asking for a share in her ex husband Sunjay Kapur’s 30000 crore estate after his death.

Karisma and Sunjay’s Relationship Background

Karisma and Sunjay got married in 2003 but separated in 2014, finalising their divorce in 2016. That same year, Karisma filed a domestic violence case against Sunjay and his mother, Rani Kapur. The couple has two children: a daughter, Samaira, born in 2005, and a son, Kiaan, born in 2010. Sunjay, who was the chairman of the $3.6 billion Sona Comstar Group, tragically passed away while playing polo, leaving behind a substantial estate.

Sunjay’s mother issued a public statement ahead of Sona Comstar’s AGM, claiming a majority stake and legal heir status. This fueled speculation, but Karisma’s sources reiterated her non-involvement, per Hindustan Times.

The estate, valued at over Rs30,000 crore, involves complex inheritance laws. Karisma’s focus on her children’s welfare aligns with her post-divorce priorities, including custody arrangements. Legal experts from Bar & Bench note that children are primary heirs in such cases, reducing spousal claims. Karisma Kapoor denies any involvement in the estate, instead focusing on her children as the heirs. The clarification quells rumours amid Sunjay Kapur’s tragic passing.
