The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) already under financial constraints, could not manage to get a sponsorship to host Zimbabwe in the United Arab Emirates, resulting in cancellation of the series scheduled later in the year.
Cancellation of the series was another financial setback for the PCB and players, who had not been paid salaries for many months.
Zimbabwe was supposed to tour Bangladesh and Pakistan before the year end, but Pakistan is not ready to host the series. Zimbabwe had played a home two-Test match rubber against Pakistan last year, which they won by 1-0.
Zimbabwian coach Andy Waller, in a recent statement, said the cancellation of the tour meant that his team would now be touring only Bangladesh.
