The State Bank of Pakistan has revealed that remittances from overseas Pakistanis totalled $2.2 billion in June. Over the 2023-24 financial year, these remittances reached $27 billion, representing a 4% monthly increase.
However, the Bank noted a yearly decrease of 14% in these remittances. The highest foreign exchange contribution in June, amounting to $520 million, came from Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia. Pakistani expats in the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates also made significant contributions, remitting $340 million and $330 million, respectively.
