Karahi: Opposition parties in the country have announced plans to observe a ‘Black Day’ this Friday to protest against prolonged power failures affecting several cities, including Karachi.
The decision came during a meeting led by the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah, where leaders of various opposition parties convened to discuss the ongoing issues.
As part of the protest activities, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) will be organizing rallies in different cities starting at 5pm today. These rallies aim to highlight the severity of the load shedding problem and mobilize public support for resolving the crisis.
This move by the opposition comes in the wake of their recent walkout from the National Assembly. The walkout was a protest against the continuous power outages which have plagued various parts of the country and contributed to several deaths during a recent heatwave.
The opposition’s concerted actions aim to draw significant attention to the energy crisis and pressure the government to take effective measures to alleviate the situation and prevent further hardships for the citizens.
