Bloomberg and the Information have reported that OpenAI’s new product could challenge both Google and the AI startup Perplexity. This product will expand on ChatGPT, allowing it to fetch real-time web data and add citations.
Google plans to showcase AI innovations at its conference starting Tuesday. Meanwhile, OpenAI’s product evolved from ChatGPT, which previously integrated with Microsoft’s Bing for premium users but lacked accurate real-time web data.
Perplexity, valued at $1 billion and led by an ex-OpenAI researcher, competes with a user-friendly AI search interface. It claims 10 million monthly active users.
