The outpatient department (OPD) of all government hospitals of the city, including Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and Civil Hospital remained closed as doctors observed strikes against the target killing of their fellow doctors.
The doctors at the government hospitals went on strike against increasing incidents of doctors’ target killing in the city. The protesting doctors said that they would go on strikes if they did not get proper security.
Meanwhile, thousands of the patients faced inconvenience due to the closure of the OPD and absence of doctors in the hospitals.
