Omar Ayub Khan, the central leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, has claimed that Bushra Bibi was poisoned while incarcerated.

Ayub emphasized that the former first lady endured nine months in custody with remarkable resilience, asserting that her release, along with Aleema Khan and Uzma Khan, did not result from any political agreement with the government.

He also alleged that PTI’s founder, still detained in Adiala Jail under what he termed fabricated charges, received substandard food and faced interruptions in water and electricity supply as part of his mistreatment.

Ayub noted that the PTI leader, like former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has experienced declining platelet levels but has chosen not to seek exile abroad. He expressed optimism about the judiciary under the new Chief Justice of Pakistan, whom he described as knowledgeable and impartial while criticizing the government for allegedly passing an unconstitutional amendment with forgery.

Further, Ayub declared that opposition parties plan to initiate a movement against the current administration, affirming PTI’s collaboration with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
