In an exhilarating Cotton Bowl clash, the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Texas Longhorns 28-14, advancing to the College Football Playoff (CFP) title game against Notre Dame. This victory marks a significant milestone for the Buckeyes as they progress to the National Championship.

The Buckeyes established dominance early, with running back Quinshon Judkins opening the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown in the first quarter. The momentum continued as quarterback Will Howard connected with TreVeyon Henderson for a 75-yard touchdown pass just before the half, regaining the lead after Texas had tied the game.

Texas attempted a comeback in the third quarter, with quarterback Quinn Ewers linking up with Jaydon Blue for two crucial touchdowns, reigniting the hopes of Texas fans.

However, Ohio State’s defence was decisive. As the game neared its climax, Howard led an 88-yard drive that resulted in Judkins’ second touchdown. A pivotal moment followed when defensive end Jack Sawyer forced a fumble from Ewers and returned it 82 yards, sealing the win with a touchdown.

The win underscored Ohio State’s resilience and strategic preparation. Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian praised his team’s efforts but recognized the Buckeyes’ strength. With this victory, Ohio State will face Notre Dame, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown for the national championship.

The anticipation builds as the Buckeyes aim for their first national title since 2014, promising an electrifying finale to the college football season.
