Islamabad: Pakistan has made no decision as yet to participate in the Yemen conflict, but will defend Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity at all costs.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif while address in National Assembly said on the floor of the National Assembly“We will take the Parliament into confidence if such a decision is taken,”

Asif said “Should we need to commit troops, the parliament will be taken into confidence,”

“Pakistan will by all means defend Saudi Arabia and its integrity if it is harmed.”

He reiterated that all the conflicts in the Islamic need to be brought to an end and Pakistan will do its best to assist in doing so.

The defense minister said that Islamabad did not want to fan sectarian divide instead the country would make efforts to forge unity in the Muslim Ummah.

Saudi Arabia has requested Pakistan to join a coalition after it launched air strikes in Yemen against Houthis rebels, who have taken over much of the country.
