Pakistan’s Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment has issued guidance on the New Zealand skilled visa pathway, covering eligibility, fees, job requirements and application steps.
The bureau said the visa allows successful applicants to live, work and study in New Zealand indefinitely, with the option to include partners and dependent children aged 24 or younger.
Application fees start from NZD 6,450, according to the guidance. Officials said migrants may become eligible for a Permanent Resident Visa after holding the residence visa continuously for two years.
Applicants must be aged 55 or under, meet health and character standards and show English language ability. The guidance says applicants must secure a full-time skilled job with an accredited employer in New Zealand.
The job must involve at least 30 hours a week and be permanent, fixed-term for at least 12 months, or based on a continuous contract of at least 6 months.
Eligible roles include ANZSCO Level 1 to 3 occupations that pay at least the 2025 median wage of NZD 35.00 per hour. ANZSCO Level 4 to 5 occupations must pay at least 1.5 times the median wage, or NZD 52.50 an hour.

Applicants need at least six skilled resident points based on qualifications, income, occupational registration or New Zealand work experience.
The process starts with a free online expression of interest, followed by a four-month window to submit a full application after invitation.
