LAHORE: A judicial magistrate on Tuesday granted the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) a further two-day physical remand of two suspects in a Rs35 billion fraud involving counterfeit United States postage stamps.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo issued the order after investigators produced the suspects after their previous custody period expired.
The investigating officer requested a five-day extension for further interrogation, but the court granted two days and directed authorities to present the men again on Thursday, November 5.
The prime suspect, a 33-year-old resident of Khanewal, faces charges from a Florida jury alleging he defrauded the United States Postal Service of $126 million through an unauthorised website.
