LONDON: Unidentified people smashed windows and stole glass panels from two cars belonging to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday, a family spokesperson said.
Geo News London reported that Murtaza Ali Shah said the Metropolitan Police have secured closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of the incident. It shows two masked men removing glass from the vehicles.
A family spokesperson described the damage as the third such incident involving Sharif’s vehicles in the British capital. Those responsible remain unidentified. Their motive is unknown.
Sharif is visiting London for medical appointments and staying at the family’s Avenfield Apartments.
Previous incidents involving the family have included attempted entries into its properties and confrontations outside Sharif’s office.
In July 2018, protesters tried to force their way into the Avenfield residence. Police attended, and clashes between rival political supporters led to arrests.
Four unidentified men tried to enter Sharif’s son Hassan Nawaz’s London office in May 2021. Sharif was inside at the time, and police received a report about the incident.

A security guard suffered injuries during a confrontation outside Sharif’s office in April 2022. Police confirmed receiving an assault complaint.
During a separate incident in May 2023, a protester threw coffee at Sharif’s car and kicked it. A Sharif family source later said he had not been personally targeted. His vehicle was nearby when Black Lives Matter protesters clashed with police.
