National Savings profit rates have been increased by 1% to 2.20% on several investment schemes across Pakistan, with the revised returns effective from May 26.
The Central Directorate of National Savings raised the Special Savings Schemes rate to 11.6% and the Regular Income Certificates rate to 11.82%, according to the updated structure.
The federal government kept the Behbood and Pensioner schemes unchanged at 12%. National Savings said the unchanged rate means investors receive Rs 1,000 per month for every Rs 100,000 invested in Behbood Savings Certificates.

An investment of Rs 100,000 can generate about Rs 1,080 per month under the updated payout structure, while Rs 200,000 can generate about Rs 2,160 per month.
The government earlier revised returns on Behbood Savings Certificates linked with investments up to Rs 200,000, setting that specific profit rate at 12.96%.
National Savings said Behbood Savings Certificates remain focused on widows and disabled persons. Profit is paid monthly from the date the certificates are purchased.
