The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced a significant upgrade to its ID card system, launching a non-chip National ID card with smart features that enhance security and affordability for Pakistani citizens.

The new card, available for renewals, modifications, or replacements, includes bilingual information in English and Urdu, a QR code for digital identity access via the Pak ID mobile app, special markers and lifetime validity for organ donors and persons with disabilities, and free issuance for first-time 18-year-old applicants under normal processing.
