National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has formally launched campaign for re-verification of registered families to identify illegal registered people in families.
Nadra is issuing SMS from 8008 to heads of families to get confirmation of their registered members.
A citizen can also get verified his family sending his CNIC number to 8008. However, the reverification of Computerized National Identity Cards will start from the 1st of next month.
Nadra has established the needed helpline capable of handling 10,000 calls per day and a SMS gateway of 150,000 SMS per day to facilitate people who will report suspected CNICs issued to aliens.
The interior minister directed Nadra to ensure utilization of all its resources to achieve the desired objective of removing aliens from Nadra’s database within the given timeline.
He also approved media strategy of Nadra for awareness of masses.
