Renowned Pakistani actress and social activist Nadia Jamil recently disclosed her experiences with harassment within the film and drama industry during a discussion on Iffat Omar’s podcast.
Jamil revealed that a director had targeted her in the past, a fact she plans to detail publicly soon. Despite the harassment, she never collaborated with him again, noting that the director had succeeded.
In her discussion, Nadia Jamil expressed her commitment to avoiding individuals introducing complications into her life. She also recounted an instance where she declined a role offered by actor Nauman Ijaz, as it involved working under the same director.
Jamil is considering revealing the director’s identity to protect potential future victims, although she is currently withholding his name to protect her young sons from potential repercussions. She plans to disclose this information when her sons are older and more mature.
Additionally, Jamil has shared in previous statements that she was a victim of sexual harassment multiple times throughout her childhood and teenage years, starting at age four. These experiences have significantly impacted her, contributing to long periods of sadness, fear, depression, and distress.
