The former President of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), Qasim Zia was arrested by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials over charges of fraud.
According NAB sources, Zia, leader of Pakistan People’s Party, (PPP) was arrested in Lahore today (Saturday) by NAB team and presented him before in a local Accountability Court. The court granted 14-day physical remand to NAB.
Zia was facing charges of multi-million-rupee fraud through his fake company.
He was appointed as PHF President in October 2008. He has also been a member of Punjab Assembly during 2002-07 and functioned as Leader of Opposition.
