Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir: Private college principal Hamza Ahmed Dar died during treatment after being shot outside his campus in Gojra, police said Friday.
Police said Dar had sustained three bullet wounds to the head in the attack a day earlier. He had been shifted to the hospital in critical condition after the shooting.
According to police, the attacker opened fire when the principal came out of his office. A college watchman also confirmed the sequence of events in his statement to investigators.
Police said they arrested the suspect while he was trying to flee from the scene. Officials also recovered the weapon allegedly used in the attack.

Investigators said the detained suspect was a resident of Wah Cantt. They said he had been staying at a hotel near the college since Sunday.
Police said initial findings suggested the attacker acted alone. No accomplice had been identified so far, while further investigation was underway
