On Thursday afternoon at Chunabhatti railway station in Mumbai’s eastern suburbs, a police constable courageously saved a woman from being dragged by a moving train, an incident captured by CCTV and quickly shared on social media.

Police reports indicate that while attempting to disembark from the train, the woman’s dress got caught in the zipper of another commuter’s bag. As the train moved, it dragged her along the platform. Fortunately, Constable Rupali Kadam responded swiftly and rescued her.

Constable Kadam’s quick action prevented severe injury and possibly saved the woman’s life. She emerged unscathed, earning Constable Kadam praise from authorities for her prompt and courageous response.

As the train picked up speed, the woman lost her balance and continued to be dragged, desperately trying to free herself from the threat of being pulled under the train. After noticing the dangerous situation, Constable Kadam quickly pulled the woman to safety. Both landed safely on the platform as the alert motorman immediately halted the train, ensuring no injuries occurred.

Constable Kadam’s rapid response and heroism highlight the critical role of police presence and quick action in preventing accidents and ensuring public safety at train stations.
