Peshawar: Qasim Ali Khan Mosque’s Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai has refused to attend a meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee for the usual moon sighting for the holy month of Ramadan.
Talking to the media, a spokesman of Mufti Popalzai said “Neither me nor any of my representative would attend the meeting of Central Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee,”

As a tradition Mufti Popalzai would chair a meeting of Masjid Qasim Khan’s committee this evening.
It should be noted that Mufti Popalzai has been known to give moon sightings contrary to the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s decisions
