Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz’s injury concerns have ruled him out of the remainder of the National Champions Cup 2026 after scans confirmed a fractured right middle finger, the PCB said Friday.
The 32-year-old suffered the injury while fielding for Pakistan Gold against Pakistan Blues on August 12 at Multan Cricket Stadium. Despite the injury, Nawaz completed his full quota of 10 overs.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said scans conducted on August 13 confirmed the fracture. Its official statement said Nawaz would be out of action for at least three weeks.
Nawaz will report to the PCB’s Sports and Exercise Medicine Department after two weeks. He will then begin conditioning and progress through Return-to-Play protocols under the medical team’s supervision.

The August 12 match was Nawaz’s only appearance in the tournament. He scored eight runs and returned figures of 0-44 from 10 overs as Pakistan Gold lost to Pakistan Blues by six wickets.
