Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa Monday said Indian aggression or any misadventure would always get a most befitting response.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement issued here, the COAS said this during his visit to Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary (WB) in Khuiratta and Ratta Arayan sectors.

Local commanders briefed the COAS about Indian cease fire violations, specifically the targeting of civil population across LoC/ WB.

The army chief appreciated effective and responsible response of Pakistan troops to Indian unethical targeting and high morale of troops and civilians.

He directed for enhanced protective measures, including construction of more community shell protection shelters for civil population.

He especially hailed heroic determination of local population against Indian blatant aggression.
“Our commitment to abide by the ceasefire agreement of 2003 should never be misconstrued as response limitation,” he said.

Later, the army chief visited Combined Military Hospital Sialkot to meet citizens, who were injured due to the recent Indian shelling.

Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Nadeem Raza, Commander Gujranwala Corps, Lieutenant General Amir Abbasi were also present during the visit. (APP)
