KARACHI: Investigators probing the Mir Raza Ali murder case will send the victim’s mobile phone and smartwatch to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) in Lahore for digital analysis.
The investigation committee retrieved the electronic devices from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) following reservations expressed by the businessman’s family regarding the initial custody, according to investigative sources.
The investigating officer currently holds the evidence and will determine today whether to transport the items to Punjab by air or deliver them by hand.
In a separate legal development, the victim’s business partner, Muhammad Ahmed Bhardey, appeared before a Karachi City Court on Saturday to formally join the investigation.

Bhardey’s counsel, Advocate Khalid Mumtaz, informed the court that his client secured interim pre-arrest bail to cooperate with the probe after facing alleged police harassment during the initial inquiry.
Mir Raza Ali disappeared on July 28 after leaving his residence in the PECHS area of Karachi, Sindh. Police discovered his bullet-riddled body the following day in bushes near the University of Karachi in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, recovering his mobile phone approximately 200 yards from the crime scene.
