Miley Cyrus’s new song “River” disses Liam Hemsworth

“River,” a brand-new song by Miley Cyrus, has all the makings of yet another smash hit.

Even though the song is perceived as a new “diss track” against Liam Hemsworth, the release date has nothing to do with her ex-boyfriend, unlike when she released Flowers on his birthday.

Miley Cyrus also released a video in which she is wearing a simple black dress and sandals of the same color. The video lacked any set and was filmed entirely in a studio. Since its release on YouTube has had more than 200,000 likes and 2.6 million views in just 15 hours.

The River track doesn’t seem as significant as “Flowers,” in which she proclaimed independence and criticized her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth.

According to Pop Hive, Miley Cyrus was not mocking the Australian actor with the lyrics in her music video, but rather with a certain detail.

“After filming Flowers in the home where her ex-husband had 14 affairs with her, Miley Cyrus filmed the video for River with 14 men.”

In a statement about the project, the singer attributed the song’s inspiration to her life.

“River” was released at a time when Cyrus was experiencing significant personal and emotional turmoil.

“Each of my songs evolves. They may begin with a seemingly unending problem and then suddenly experience a deluge of love.

They do not want me to reveal the song’s meaning, so we occasionally need a dance hit.”

However, the official definition of “River” is unclear because the last word of this sentence was censored.

It appears that Miley Cyrus’s current boyfriend, Maxx Morando, is the target of this new song. Their relationship became public in December 2021, and the song’s lyrics may contain messages directed at the performer.

“I can’t stop thinking about you as the potential mother of my children as of late. Among the verses that could be directed at Morando are: “I hope they have your eyes and that crooked smile, I was a desert before I met you, I was in a drought,” and similar phrases.

Although the desert and drought could also be interpreted as a metaphor for the emptiness she felt after her marriage ended.
