Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s 2024 Compensation Soars By 63%

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella’s fiscal 2024 compensation increased by 63% to $79.1 million, propelled by substantial stock awards.

According to a recent filing, his earnings rose in a year when Microsoft’s market value exceeded $3 trillion.

Nadella, who received $48.5 million in 2023, saw his stock awards nearly double to about $71 million from $39 million the previous year.

NEW: It seemed like Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella made a lot of money in 2023, when his compensation reached $48.5 million.

But he did better this year!

Microsoft shares appreciated by 31.2% during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. The company’s investment in OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, positions Microsoft as a leader in the burgeoning field of generative AI.

Despite these successes, Nadella’s cash incentive was $5.2 million, below the potential $10.7 million, following his request for a reduction due to several cybersecurity incidents reported over the year.

Apple CEO Tim Cook received $63.2 million in 2023, while Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang earned $34.2 million in fiscal 2024.
