ANN ARBOR, United States: Michigan upset No. 11 Oklahoma 17-10 on Saturday as its defence forced a crucial fourth-quarter turnover and shut down the Sooners late.
Jyaire Hill intercepted Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer and returned the ball 24 yards to the Sooners’ 6-yard line. Two plays later, Jordan Marshall scored the touchdown that gave Michigan its winning margin.
Oklahoma still had nearly eight minutes to respond. However, its next two possessions ended with a punt and a turnover on downs without a first down.
The Sooners regained possession with 1:14 remaining and no timeouts. Their final drive ended when Mateer was sacked at Oklahoma’s 24-yard line as time expired.

The Wolverines finished with 263 yards on 58 offensive plays but improved to 2-0 behind another strong defensive performance.

Mateer completed 17 of 33 passes for 189 yards. He also led Oklahoma in rushing with 45 yards on 13 carries.
Oklahoma next faces New Mexico before visiting No. 2 Georgia, followed by a bye ahead of its rivalry game against No. 4 Texas.
