LAHORE, Punjab: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has paid Rs27.194 million to the Punjab government for use of an official aircraft during her recent private visit to London.
Payment documents dated September 17 show Rs27,194,004 deposited into the Punjab government’s treasury account through the National Bank of Pakistan’s Valencia Branch in Lahore. The payment was made through a Bank of Punjab cheque.
The pay-in slip records Umar Abbas as the depositor. The final amount followed revisions to the aircraft-expense bill, according to documents and reports concerning the transaction.

The visit drew criticism from opposition lawmakers over the provincial government’s use of an aircraft for a private trip.
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari said on September 10 that the chief minister would personally bear the aircraft expenses and that no public funds would ultimately cover the private journey.
An opposition adjournment motion in the Punjab Assembly had separately sought details of the trip’s cost, the authority under which the aircraft was used and the financial approvals involved. The reported reimbursement addresses the aircraft-cost component but does not itself resolve those broader questions.
