Marius Borg Høiby, the son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, was sentenced to four years in prison on Monday after a rape conviction, NRK reported.
Oslo District Court convicted Høiby of two counts of rape. The court also found him guilty of domestic abuse, aggravated bodily assault and a drug offence.
The court ordered Høiby to pay 580,000 Norwegian kroner, about USD 60,848, in compensation to four women. The court acquitted him on two of the four rape charges.
State prosecutor Sturla Henriksbø had sought a sentence of seven years and seven months during the trial.
Høiby may remain in pre-trial detention while the case continues. His defence lawyer said they would ask for his release.

The verdict is not final. Both Høiby and prosecutors can appeal the Oslo District Court ruling.
