Karachi Malir police conducted raid raid in Kaneez Fatima Society earlier today for Abdul Karim Sarosh Siddiqui, a senior commander of militant outfit Ansarul Sharia.
SSP Malir Rao Anwar while talking to media said that Siddiqui is the mastermind of the Eid-day assassination attempt on Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Khawaja Izharul Hasan.
After a number of raids in different areas, Sacchal, Sohrab Goth and Malir, a police team led by Malir SSP Rao Anwar conducted a search operation in Gulzar-e-Hijri area in connection with the presence of suspects. A number of suspects were taken into custody.
Anwar also requested to shared the the information about the suspected militants on 0300-2023318.
Siddiqui is a student of BS programme of Applied Physics department at Karachi University.
Earlier today, the police have arrested at least eight suspects in raids in the posh Defence locality as well as Malir and Sohrab Goth after an earlier raid today resulted in the death of a policeman and escape of Siddiqui.
The raid, conducted in the city’s Kaneez Fatima Society locality, was conducted along with personnel of intelligence agencies on a tip-off. (PhotoNews / Geo News)
