On August 15, 2025, Mahnoor Cheema, an 18-year-old British-Pakistani student, made history by completing 24 A-Level subjects with top distinctions. This remarkable achievement earned her four new world records and admission to the University of Oxford to study Medicine. Including her impressive GCSE results from 2023, Mahnoor now holds six global academic records, the highest number for any secondary school student.
Mahnoor secured 24 A-Level subjects along with an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), achieving distinction in all through a single exam board. She secured 19 top A/A grades in A-Levels and a total of 45 A grades, which include 11 at the A-Level and 34 at the GCSE level. Overall, she earned 58 distinctions across 24 A-Levels and 34 GCSE subjects.
In 2023, at the age of 16, she set two GCSE records by passing 34 subjects and achieving 34 A* grades. Mahnoor was born to Lahore natives Barrister Usman Cheema and Tayyaba Cheema, and she moved to the UK in 2006. She attended Langley Grammar School and Henrietta Barnett School before switching to homeschooling for her final year. Her disciplined approach and commitment to academic excellence earned her a prestigious spot at Oxford University, making her a trailblazer for British-Pakistani students.
