Liam Hemsworth, stepping into the role of Geralt of Rivia for The Witcher Season 4, faced significant fan backlash after replacing Henry Cavill. The Hunger Games star, in an Entertainment Weekly interview revealed that he stepped away from social media for most of 2024 to avoid distractions.

“There was quite a bit of noise, and I had to put that aside,” Hemsworth said. “It started to become a distraction.” He emphasised his love for acting, stating, “I don’t want any of that to affect my way of telling the story. I jumped off social media and the internet most of last year.”

Cavill, who played Geralt for three seasons, praised Hemsworth when leaving in 2022. “The fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will take up the mantle of the White Wolf,” Cavill wrote. “I pass the torch with reverence and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this fascinating man.”
